The terms of use for both public domain clip art and for free clip art explained. Copyright is also explained as pertaining to the pages of clip art links.
Free Clip Art
When you see the words, Free Clip Art, on a site with clip art available for you to download it means that you may freely download and use the clip art within the stated terms of usage. Most of the time you will find that FREE clip art means that it is free for you to use on your personal Web site or for your personal project, but you may not put the clip art on commercial pages, use it for commercial projects, sell it, or put it in collections of other clip art. There may be other specific terms of use that are applied to "Free" clip art. Remember to read the terms of use for any clip art that you find on Web pages.
Public Domain Clip Art
Public domain clip art is clip art that may be used for any purpose. You may use it on personal or commercial Web sites. You may download the clip art, claim it as yours, sell it, use it on items for sale, use it in collections of clip art, and for any other purpose you can think of. You may change it, color it, add it to other drawings, rename it, and do with it as you will.
Public Domain With Restrictions?
If you find any public domain clip art that has any type of restrictions, or requests associated with it, then the clip art is NOT public domain clip art. Any restriction that is posted on any public domain clip art takes that clip art OUT of the public domain. You will need to consider any so called public domain clip art with any type of a restriction as Free clip art and you will need to comply with the request or the restriction in order to use it. Look elsewhere for the real public domain clip art.
Copyright
You may find free or public domain on Web sites that will also have other types of content or images that are not public domain or free to use. Pages that supply you with list of content, such as links to other clip art sites are copyrighted. That means that you may not copy the list and place it on your own site. You may, of course, compile your own content or lists.
Questions?
If you have questions about using certain types of content or if you are not certain images, or clip art, etc. may be used, please feel free to email me and I will try to locate the terms of use for you, or to find a contact for you.

variant forms, tangible medium, collective work, compilation, derivative work, pseudonymous work, nonexclusive license, notwithstanding, exclusive right, rights of attribution and integrity, making imperceptible, diligent, good faith attempt, statutory damagesI do hope that these added words will have helped clear up any misunderstandings of my explanations of Free Clip Art, Public Domain, and Copyright. :-)
